More Post-Release news. IOS, here we come.

As it turns out, there actually was some action on the apps I uploaded. Not surprisingly, none of the paid apps were download. But all the free apps were. With the five levels there were about 10-20 downloads apiece. However, a few were retained in each category. I'm an optimist, but if they immediately uninstall your free app - that can't be good. On the bright side there were a few who retained it in each category except level 1.

Speaking of witch, the Android market reports there was an SQL insert error in level one, saying a table was missing. I don't know how it got there - it's not crashing for me.

While research total vs. active installs, I came across a pretty interesting post:

Making Money With Android
How to make money with Android. One developer's journey to making an income from Android apps. The goal: $1000 a month.

Here is the most telling comment:

Thanks for this post. How did you get your application distributed? We've placed our games on the Android Market and promoted the games just as we have done to promote iOS games - links from our website, and the success of the iOS games are of a magnitude MUCH higher.

It's almost as though the Android Market is alien to most consumers?

So, I made a mistake sticking with this Android platform. Off to IOS - no ads, nothing.
